Sandra E. Schwan, 69, of Nauvoo, Illinois, passed away at T8:36 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, Iowa.
She was born on August 20, 1954, in Neillsville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Armond George and Evelyn Mae (Wilsmann) Wachholz. On September 13, 1980, she married John Edgar Schwan at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Survivors include her husband: John; son: Luke Schwan; her beloved dog: Dutch; four nieces and nephews: Todd Marescalco, Lisa Marescalco, Joe Snell, and Naomi Snell; sister: Sharon (Jim) Marescalco; and brother-in-law: Larry Albertson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and sister-in-law: Karen Albertson.
Sandy worked as a paralegal at several law firms in Wisconsin and Iowa. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was involved with the Lutheran Youth Organization. She was a Cub Scout master for fifteen years and an Eagle Scout where she earned her wood badge. She also helped with the the music boosters at Nauvoo - Colusa and Warsaw High Schools.
Her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home for cremation.
A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.
