Barr Memorial Chapel obituary - Phillip R. Goldie, 72, Denmark

Phillip Richard “Rick” Goldie, 72 years, of Denmark, Iowa died Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa.  He was born October 23, 1951 at Keokuk, Iowa, a son of Manson Phillip and Lucille May (Rhodes) Goldie.  On April 29, 1972, he married Cynthia Ann Naschert at the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, Denmark, Iowa. 
He graduated from the Fort Madison High School in 1969. Rick loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and NASCAR.  He loved telling stories.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia Ann Goldie of Denmark, Iowa; his mother Lucille Goldie of Denmark, Iowa; his children: Tishly Ann (Harvie) Herrington of Eldridge, Iowa and Ted James (Mindy) Goldie of Fort Madison, Iowa; sister, Gloria Gregory of West Point, Iowa; five grandchildren: Harli Herrington, Parker Herrington, Harvie Herrington, Phillip Goldie, and Claire Goldie; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Linda Louck.
His family will greet friends from 9:30 - 10:30 am Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, where his Memorial Service will follow and begin at 10:30 am Wednesday with Pastor Jon Heyland officiating. Burial will be at the Denmark Cemetery, Denmark.  A memorial has been established for the Denmark Fire and Rescue and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, contributions may be left at Barr Memorial Chapel.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Goldie family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
