Constance “Connie” Garcia, 73, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Behavioral Healthcare Center in Keokuk.
Connie was born on November 17, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Herculano “Pete” and Emma (Sapp) Garcia. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1969. She was a cook and worked as a cook and at Deluxe Dry Cleaners in Keokuk. She attended Calvary Foursquare Church in Keokuk and enjoyed music and singing. She was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan as well. Connie was the definition of a people person, and was always outgoing and flirty. Everyone who met her loved her.
Connie is survived by four children: Donnetta “Dawn” Spoores (Steve), Pete Garcia (Mary), Andy Ford and Christopher Ford; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Adams (Justin), Steven Spoores (Jaley), Samuel Spoores (Stephanie), Chelsey Shedd (Tony), Dakota Shedd, Megan Garcia, Ashleigh Garcia, Apollo Ford and Huxley Ford; sixteen great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Atlas Adams, Haylee, Emberley and Rylan Spoores, Carter Hawkins, Zeke Spoores, Elysia and Azzie Gonzalez, Dakota Dominguez, Carlos Shedd, Kali, Rash and Jayden Martinez, and Jon and Alaina Stewart; two brothers Rod Horton and Ronald (Sherry) Horton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents Pete and Emma Garcia, her birth mother Viola Miller (Stoops), her infant son Theodore Garcia, and two brothers: Robert Woods and Timothy McCrory.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Keokuk. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, from 10 to 11:30 am at Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, 917 Blondeau Street.
