Mary Kathryn Cooper, 91, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 4:14 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison.  She was born on February 3, 1932 in Fort Madison, IA to Dennis & Agnes Kokjohn Moline.  She married Edwin Dwayne Hartman and they later divorced.  She then married Lester Dean Cooper on January 9, 1960 in Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death on February 11, 2005.  She was a homemaker and a cashier at Greenwald’s Grocery Store for many years.  She was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed camping, baking, playing cards, needle point, spending time with her family and attending grandchildren’s ball games.

Mary is survived by: 2-daughters: Diana (Randy) Gaibel of Montrose, IA & Lisa Cooper of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Mike (Tina) Hartman of Canton, MO; 6-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1-sister: Patricia Burkhart of Cedar Rapids, IA and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-son in law: David Glasgow and 1-sister: Rose Mary Gordon.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Gary Beckman officiating.  Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for P.A.W.
