Mary Alice Scholtz, 101, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at The Kensington.  She was born on April 15, 1921 in Nauvoo, IL to Henry & Villetta Schilson Summers.  She married Richard J. Scholtz on September 15, 1946 in Davenport, IA.  He preceded her in death on September 1, 1972.  She was a secretary for Craig Sheaffer at Sheaffer Pen and later worked in the U.S. Government A.S.C.S. Office in Donnellson, IA.  She was a member of the Circle at the First Christian Church and enjoyed watching the Cubs, flower gardening, sewing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by: 1-daughter: Sally (Marvin) Denning of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Dan Scholtz of Fort Madison, IA; 4-grandchildren: Chad (Liz) Denning of Franklin, TN, Josh (Johanna) Denning of Fort Madison, IA, Jake (Eric Greiner) Denning of Wever, IA & Scott (Heather) Scholtz of Phoenix, AZ; 11-great grandchildren: Drake, Carson, Parker, Laton, Cade, Piper, Taegan, Jameson, Eva, Brynn, Sebastian; 1-sister in law: Dorothy Summers of Nauvoo, IL & 1-brother in law: Al Ammon of Denver, CO.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-grandson: David Scholtz, 1-great grandson: Christopher Scholtz, 2-brothers: Floyd & Gene Summers & 3-sisters: Ruth Fisher, Euvon Ammon & Lois Walker.

A private family graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in West Point, IA with Rev.
