Lydia M. Peterschmidt, 83, of Fort Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at 5:00 PM at the West Point Care Center.
She was born on August 16, 1939 in Ft. Madison to George and Louise Fields Daniels. On December 30, 1960 she married Victor Petershmidt in Ft. Madison and he passed away on June 26, 1999. Lydia worked at the Daily Democrat, Sears, for Dr. Idol Mitchell and Dr. Saathoff and lastly at Curves. Lydia was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed dancing, listening to Elvis and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Manning of West Point; one granddaughter, Jessica (Wes) Peitz of Ft. Madison and three great grandchildren, Ava, Ethan and Aria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Valerie Pilkington.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
