Betty L. Hetzer, 97, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at The Kensington.  She was born on August 6, 1925 in Fort Madison, IA to Jess & Rena White Cossens.  She married Alvin “Jack” Hetzer, Jr. on June 27, 1948 in Fort Madison, IA.  He preceded her in death on March 20, 2016.  She worked at Sheller-Globe and for the Fort Madison Community School District for 20 years.  She was a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church and later Fort Madison United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing doll clothes.

Betty is survived by: 1-daughter: Susan Buehler of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: David (Chris Peppler) Hetzer of Mead, CO & Robert Hetzer of Fort Madison, IA; 5-grandchildren & 11-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-daughter in law: Jeannie Hetzer, 1-brother: Richard & 1-sister: Lois.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
