FORT MADISON - Senior night didn't go as planned for the Fort Madison boys soccer team.
The Hounds dropped a 3-0 decision to the Burlington Grayhounds in high school action at the Baxter Sports Complex.
The good news is the younger classmen are stepping up for FMHS and show a bright future. Sophomore Javier Trejo had 17 saves on three goals allowed and fellow sophomores Brody Rung and AJ Nolting each took shots. Senior Reece Thele also had a shot for the Hounds. Thele's and Rung's were shots on goal.
The Hounds lost the junior varsity contest by the same score. Trejo and Danen Settles split halves at goalie with each corralling two saves.
The Hounds fall to 3-11 overall and 0-8 in conference play. They go to Danville Monday before traveling to West Point for a girls/boys doubleheader at South Park on Thursday.
