Trick or Treat In the Park set for Oct. 26

Registrations underway for those interested in tables for the event.

FORT MADISON - The Old Settlers Association is once again inviting community businesses, service organizations, churches, and neighbors and friends who love Halloween, but do not get many trick or treaters in your neighborhood to join in Old Settlers Park for a free family fun event.
This years Trick or Treat In The Park is set for Saturday, Oct. 26, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Old Settler's Park in Fort Madison. This is a free and safe family-fun event that is handicap accessible without any steps for climbing.
Pre-registration is required to hand out treats and registration is currently underway. Tables must be reserved by Oct. 20, or you'll have to bring your own.
Interested groups can register by calling or texting Sheryl Decker at 319-470-7813 by Oct. 20.
Registrants are free to decorate the picnic tables as they wish and should plan on 500 kids of all ages.
There is no soliciting allowed at the event and political signs are limited to one small sign. Advertising on the treats or trinkets that are handed out is allowed. No staples please.
Sponsors of this years event is the Old Settlers Association in cooperation with the City of Fort Madison Parks Deparatment. Fraise Auction and Real Estate is again the sponsor of the food.
UFCW Local 617 will be providing paper serving products and OSA volunteers will be on hand serving meals. Community service credits are available to students who want to help with the event.
Registrations packets will be available for participants beginning at 1 p.m. on the day of the event.
