FORT MADISON - A benefit for Chase Harkey turned out to be more than an outpouring of support and love as Harkey was presented with his diploma from Fort Madison High School.
Fort Madison Community School District Superintendent Erin Slater was on hand to make the presentation along with Creative Learning Center instructor Debora Hentzel. More than 200 people packed and overflowed the Eagles Club, where auction items lined the walls and filled the pool tables and raffles were being conducted throughout the day. The Perry Packard Project was scheduled to play live music in the evening. The event is being held to raise funds for Harkey who was severely injured in an accident last winter.
