FAIRFIELD - Fort Madison dug a deep hole early in and couldn't recover despite two wins in doubles action as Fairfield dropped Fort Madison 6-3.
Navin Martin downed Dante Seaney 1-6, 3-6 at No. 1 singles and Johnny Hernandez dropped his No. 2 singles match to Gannon Courtwright 4-6, 2-6.
Fort Madison's Sam Avery tried to get the Hounds a little momentum when he took Elijah Parr to a tiebreak losing the first set 3-6 and taking the next set 6-2. He lost the match in the tiebreak 7-10.
Logan Williams made it four-in-a-row when he dropped Austin Krueger 3-6, 0-6 at No. 4 singles. Conrad Hellman was the first Hound to get a win when he downed Jaron Willmon 7-6 (7-4), 2-6 and then won the two-set tiebreaker 10-8 at No. 5 singles.
Gabe Dezzeo stepped in and took the No. 6 singles match in easy 2-6, 2-6 fashion over the Hounds' Blake Feuerhammer.
The Hound fared a bit better in doubles action when Seaney and Hernandez dropped Martin and Courtwright 6-4, 6-4. Parr and Williams needed a tiebreaker to stop Avery and Kreuger at No. 2 singles 2-6, 6-4 (8-10). Hellman and Feuerhammer returned the favor at No. 3 doubles beating Willmon and Dezzeo 6-4, 7-5 (10-6).
The Hounds travel to Macomb on Thursday.
In jayvee action Collin Meierotto won 1 of 4 one set matches, 2-6, 3-6, 5-7 and won the last set 6-4.
