Wayne Herman Rube, 87 years, of Donnellson, Iowa died Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Good Samaritan, Ottumwa, Iowa.  He was born May 18, 1935, a son of John Herman and Vivian Marie (Brodsky) Rube.  He married Carolyn Mae Rokey on December 24, 1960 in Donnellson, Iowa.  They were married fifty-eight years before her death March 10, 2019.

Wayne was a veteran with 21 years of military service.  He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  Later he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He worked for 20 years at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.  He enjoyed farming, gardening, and he collected bald eagle statues.

He is survived by four children: Michael (Lisa) Rube of Donnellson, Iowa; Richard Rube; Sheryl Rube (Marty Victory) of Fort Madison; and Denise (Steven) Hank of Washington, Illinois; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four siblings.
