Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Linda Sparrow, 69, Keokuk

Linda Sparrow, 69 of Keokuk, IA passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. 
She was born September 17, 1954 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Elmer and Virginia Hagmeier Sparrow.  Linda graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1974.
She was first married to Larry Hackett on September 16, 1978 in Carthage, IL.  To this union two children, Luke and Lance were born.  They later divorced.  In 1995, Linda was united in marriage to Tim Washburn and to this union, one daughter, Nikkea was born.  They later divorced.
Linda had been employed as a manager at the Holiday Inn in Keokuk.  She then worked at Keokuk Area Hospital as a receptionist and worked her way up to an administration position for twenty-five years, until her retirement.  Finally, Linda worked at the No Wake Café in Montrose, IA.
Linda was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post #41 and the Southside Boat Club.
She was an animal lover and had many pets through the years.  Linda was carefree and fun loving and loved spending time with her friends and family.  Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.
She is survived by two sons, Luke Hackett (Ellen Theis) of Hamilton, IL and Lance Hackett (Sarah) of Hamilton, IL and one daughter, Nikkea Barnett (Andron) of Keokuk and six grandchildren, Leah, Colin, Brycen, Gabby, Rowan, Ada Kate.  She is also survived by two brothers, David Sparrow (Stacey) and Kevin Sparrow (Donnagene) and three nieces, Melissa, Melita and Andrea, one nephew, Andrew and many other loved family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Leah, one sister, Shirley Davidson and one brother, Allen Ray Sparrow.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.  Following the service there will be a time of fellowship at Chintz’s in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to the family for a headstone for her daughter, Leah or to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
