County now accepting opioid funding applications

FORT MADISON - As part of the Lee County Opioid planning committee, Lee County Health Department is pleased to announce that Lee County is now prepared to accept Opioid Settlement Funding Request applications. Opioid Settlement funds will be allocated towards local project initiatives aimed at combating the opioid crisis and supporting community health and recovery efforts over the next few years.
Application forms can be submitted by organizations, community groups, and other local entities that are committed to addressing the opioid epidemic through a variety of approaches, including prevention, treatment, recovery support, and harm reduction strategies.

Each application proposal should include a detailed description in each of the answers on the application form with an attached detailed budget and budget narrative. The committee may request additional information on projects as they complete the review process. Completed applications and budget information can be submitted electronically to opioidfunds@leecounty.org or mailed to Lee County Board of Supervisors, Address: 933 Ave. H, PO Box 488, Ft. "As the opioid crisis has affected many of our Lee County citizens including our youth, these funds will help our county by enhancing needed services and support in areas of prevention, treatment, and recovery. The Opioid committee encourages eligible groups to apply as we move forward with our county processes for use of these funds," said Tom Schultz, Lee County Board of Supervisor and chair of the appointed Opioid Committee.
The Board of Supervisors appointed opioid committee will review all applications received and will make recommendations to the Board who will make all final funding determinations following Lee County’s approved process outlined as part of the application form.
