Dorothy L. “Dotty” Summers, 90, of Nauvoo, IL died Monday, August 21, 2023 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA.
She was born November 8, 1932 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Clayton and Hazel Cale Jones. Dotty graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1950.
On June 7, 1953 Dotty was united in marriage to E. Gene Summers at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2014.
Dotty was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Keokuk.
She is survived by two sons, Doug (Becky) Summers of Hamilton, IL and Hank (Shelly) Summers of Hamilton, IL, six grandchildren, Zach (Randi) Summers, Ben (Kelsey) Summers, Kendall (Carly) Summers, Emma (Leigh) Powell, Ethan (Alyssa) Summers and Lydia Summers and seven great- grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, David at birth and one sister, Betty Peterson.
There will be no services at this time. A private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAW Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison, IA.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
