Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Donald “Don” Dean Glasgow, 77 of Ft. Madison

Posted

Donald “Don” Dean Glasgow, 77 of Ft. Madison, IA began his journey on October 12, 1945 and it ended on May 10, 2023.  This is his story…
Don was a great story teller, accomplished lumber grader and camp host.  He never met a stranger and had a weakness for holding babies.  Don met the love of his life, Kae Burr fifty-eight years ago.  His pickup line was calling her “George” and the rest is history.  They were blessed with Kayla (Randy) Schleidt, Wesley (Val) Glasgow, Trulie (Charlie) Mayes and Brandon (Jenifer) Glasgow.  The family continued to grow with twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  Some of his life’s advice that will forever be remembered is “Life is too short for cheap beer” and “Hurry up and eat it before it crawls away and hides”.  He was tough enough to wear pink and wasn’t ashamed to admit it.
Don’s memory lives on with his family and friends, whom he looks forward to being reunited with again in paradise.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Montrose, IA.
Memorials may be made to PAW Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison, IA.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
