Gary Harlan Horstman, 70, of Denmark, IA, passed away at 9:16 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at The Kensington.  He was born on February 19, 1953 in Fort Madison, IA to Harlan & Alice Hasenclever Horstman.  He graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1971 and worked at J.I. Case for 30 years.  After retirement, he worked at Kempker’s True Value and at the Sheaffer Golf Course.  He married Janet Lee Thompson Fedler on February 23, 2017 in Orange Beach, AL.  He was a member of Denmark United Congregational Church and enjoyed playing golf at Sheaffer’s, playing softball, cooking, grilling, fishing and vacationing at Orange Beach, AL.
Gary is survived by: his wife: Janet Horstman of Denmark, IA; his mother: Alice Horstman of Fort Madison, IA; 1-step daughter: Jennifer (Shadd) Parker of Delaware, OH; 1-step grandson: Isaac Robinson of Delaware, OH; 1-sister: Susie (Bruce) Campbell of Surprise, AZ and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A procession will go to Denmark Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. for a graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Denmark Ball Association or Denmark Fire & Rescue.  Online condolences to the Horstman family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
