Robert G. “Bob”  Moore, Jr., 94, of Ft. Madison, passed away at 12:45 AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison.

He was born on April 2, 1929 in Centertown, MO to Robert G. and Ella Walker Moore, Sr.    On June 13, 1953 he married Arlene “Pat” Steinhauer in California, MO and she passed away on July 27, 1992.  He later married Laverna Alarie and she passed away on November 15, 2022.  Bob served in the US Navy during WWII and was a 1953 graduate of the University of Missouri.  He was a mechanical engineer at First Miss and Sheaffer Pen Co.  He became a Christian in 1941 and led a life as a devout Christian who loved the Lord.  He was a member of Grace Bible Church where he served as an Elder and later attended Madison Baptist Church.  Bob taught Bible classes and was also a leader of Community Bible Study.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include two daughters, Julie Gerdes of Ft. Madison and Janet (Tracy) Vance of Fairfield; one grandson, Ross (Amanda) Vance of New London and one great granddaughter on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother and one sister. 

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 10, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Ken Barlow officiating.  The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
