Mary Ellen Russell, 86, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 5:51 AM at The Kensington.
She was born on December 4, 1936 in Ft. Madison to Lewis and Clara Bohnenkamp Huett. Mary married Robert Martin and they later divorced. She then married Chadwick “Junior” Russell on February 26, 1977 in Ft. Madison and he passed away on July 7, 2016. Mary worked at Sheaffer Pen in her early years and was a bartender at the Moose Lodge for several years. She was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge, loved all animals, spending time with her friends and family and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Patty Martin of Montrose and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Scott, one brother, Robert Huett and two sisters, Phyllis Huett and Betty Neil.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 6 PM at the Ft. Madison Moose Lodge.
