Harold “Peach” Towery, 82, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 1:45 AM at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on April 10, 1940 in Blairsville, GA to Charles and Lorraine Daniel Towery. Peach moved to Ft. Madison and worked his career at Union Electric, retiring after thirty seven years of service. On November 1, 1980 he married Ruth Thurman Cowles in Kahoka, MO. Peach served in the US Air Force for four years. He attended First Baptist Church, enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Towery of Ft. Madison; eight children, Rene Towery Leffler, Wane Towery, Denise Towery Taylor, Brad Cowles, Neal Cowles, Julie Babcock, Lynne Cowles and Russ Cowles; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one brother, Glynn Towery and one sister, Phyllis Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Timothy and his daughter in law, Tammy Cowles.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. The family will meet with friends from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM. Burial will be held at a later date in Elmer Cemetery, Elmer, MO. King-Lynk Funeral Home is assisting the family.
