Edmund B. “Ed” Bartholomew, 62, of Montrose, IA, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, IA. He was born on January 27, 1961 in Fort Madison, IA to Paul J. & Joan M. Beger Bartholomew. He married Kay L. Armstrong on September 3, 1988 in Atkins, IA. He was a lab tech for the City of Fort Madison Water Treatment Facility and was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman. He coached junior high wrestling and also Fort Madison Kids Club Wrestling.
Ed is survived by: his wife: Kay Bartholomew of Montrose, IA; 1-daughter: Megan (Mitchell) McKnight of Fairfax, VA; 1-son: Bryce (fiancé Teagan Manus) Bartholomew of West Des Moines, IA; 1-granddaughter: Emery McKnight of Fairfax, VA; 2-sisters: Cathy Grim of Tonto Basin, AZ & Susan (Ray) Menke of Fort Madison, IA and 1-brother: Robert Bartholomew of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by: his parents and 1-brother, Rodney Bartholomew.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. A memorial has been established for Lee County Conservation for youth hunting opportunities.
