Betty L. Tripp, 93, of West Point, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11 AM at her home.
She was born on September 3, 1929 in Ft. Madison to Walter and Zera Smith Sandford. On September 29, 1948 she married Elbert Tripp in Ft. Madison and he passed away on January 1, 2000. She was a homemaker and a very active member of Community of Christ Church where she previously served as Pastor. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and writing, especially poetry.
Survivors include one daughter, Ilene (Steve) DePriest of West Point; one son, Kevin (Colleen) Tripp of West Point; six grandchildren, Kara Strunk, Geoff DePriest, Brian Tripp, Eric Tripp, Adam Tripp and Jacob Tripp and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David and two sisters.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The memorial service for Betty Tripp will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2 PM at the Community of Christ Church. King-Lynk Funeral Home is assisting the family.
