Thomas “Tom” Joseph Palermini, 69, of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at his home in Keokuk.

Tom was born on April 1, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Dominick Carmen and Eva Marie (Sutton) Palermini. On October 6, 1979, he was united in marriage to Martha Porter in Keokuk. They were later divorced. Tom graduated from St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois, and received his degree in broadcasting at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.

Tom was well-known in the Keokuk area, working at the KOKX radio station, DJ-ing at the Outside Inn, working at Metzo Metals and State Central Bank before retiring from Keokuk Savings Bank as Assistant Vice President of Mortgage/Consumer Lending. Tom was active in his community and was a member of Rotary Club of Keokuk, the Keokuk Yacht Club, the Montrose City Council and served on many boards including Keokuk Young Professionals, the Salvation Army, the Keokuk Chamber of Commerce and the Girl Scouts. He served as a Dale Carnegie instructor and enjoyed music and going out with friends and family. He was always social and knew everyone in the area.

Tom is survived by three children: Justin P. Kirchner of Fort Madison, Iowa, Dominique E. (Alec) Cornick of Burlington, Iowa, and Anne-Marie P. Morrow of Montrose, Iowa; three sisters: Mary F. (Art) Palermini of Stockton, Illinois, Therese M. Palermini of Elizabeth, Illinois, and Patricia A. (Michael) Palermini of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Owen Dominick Cornick of Burlington, Ava Morrow of Montrose, Haley Jones of Montrose, Naomi Kirchner of Bavier, Missouri, Abagayl Kirchner of Fort Madison, and Audrey and Madalyn Kirchner, both of Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his brother James P. Palermini.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Evangelical Free Church of Keokuk, with burial to follow at the Montrose Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday directly before the service.
