Frances Rae Lux, 66, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.

Frances was born on June 30, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Earl “Arkie” Wilson and Hazel (Durow) Wilson Meyocks. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1976, and went on to receive her degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. On November 30, 1991, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lux in Marion, Iowa. He survives.

Frances was employed at BTR, Roquette and Quick Stop in Keokuk throughout her working career. She was an active member of God’s Way Christian Center and served there faithfully. Frances was a woman of great faith. Everyone knew Frances as a hard worker with a heart for others. She had a generous spirit, but you could count on her to call it as she saw it. Frances was devoted to her family, raising her grandson Robert from a young age. She was the master of crocheting and loved working with her hands.

Frances is survived by her husband Kenneth Lux of Keokuk; her mother Hazel Meyocks; her daughter Bonnie Brookhart of Louisiana; three grandchildren: Robert Kleine, JD Quinn and Jade Kleine; two sisters: Rhonda (Fiancé Keith) Kochuyt and Tamara (Mark) Sherry; her brother Jonathan (Janet) Wilson; and several other family members.

Frances is preceded in death by her father Earl.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at God’s Way Christian Center in Keokuk, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday at Center Point Cemetery in Center Point, Iowa.
