Kenneth Gerald Miller, 88, of Keokuk, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.
Kenneth was born on May 29, 1935, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Milo and Emily (Wright) Miller. He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1953, and on August 26, 1956, he was united in marriage to Beverly Bolt. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2007. Kenneth was a member of the Army 495th Combat Engineer Battalion.
Kenneth was employed at Hubinger Company and retired from Keokuk Area Hospital in maintenance. In retirement, he enjoyed mowing and yardwork, meticulously maintaining Connable Circle in Keokuk. He loved his grandchildren dearly, and will always be remembered for his kind and friendly personality. Kenneth was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Sherri (Steve) Lowman of Hamilton; his sister Norma Jobe Miller of Keokuk; six grandchildren: Mike (Meghan) Maag, Megan (Jamie) Mathes, Heath (Lori) Lowman, Stephanie (Tom) Fortado, Alan (Lindsay) Ross and Matt (Heather) Ross; fifteen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Patty Baumann, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, daughter Janet Maag, son Rod Miller, brothers: Raymond, Herold, Ralph, Larry and Ross Miller (in infancy) and special friend Alberta Piersee.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Visitation will be held directly preceding the graveside service from 10:00-11:00 am at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home.
