Ruth Sybel Richardson, 95 years, of West Point, Iowa died Monday, June 5, 2023 at the West Point Care Center, West Point. She was born November 13, 1927 at Wever, Iowa, a daughter of Joseph Sr. and Frances (Heffner) Patton. She married John Donahue. They later divorced. She then married Martin Luedtke. They later divorced. On March 20, 1970, she married Robert T. Richardson at Carthage, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
Ruth retired after 14 years, as a cracker packer from MidWest Biscuit. She was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Fort Madison.
She is survived by three sons: Delbert Joseph (Janice) Luedtke of Green Valley, Illinois; Donald David (Amy) Luedtke of Tombstone, Arizona; and Anthony Wayne Luedtke of Geneseo, Illinois; six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, four brothers: Joseph Patton, Arthur Patton, Robert Patton and Paul Patton and three sisters: Martha Jeager, Flora Odom, and Edith Phillips.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 9, 2023 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point. Her funeral service will follow and begin at 1:30 pm Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, with Reverend Chris Roepke officiating. Burial will be at the Claypoole Cemetery, rural Wever, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Fort Madison, Iowa.
