Darlene Joyce McVey, 91, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at her home.
Darlene was born January 16, 1932 in Dallas City, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Clarence and Myrtle (Wilcox) DeFrates. On February 6, 1954 she married Glen F. McVey Sr. in Nauvoo, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 25, 2002.
Darlene enjoyed gardening, flowers, and reading.
Survivors include three children: Debby Osborne of Peoria, Illinois, Glenn McVey of Peoria and Holly Moats of Russell, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Tyson, Annabel and Tiffany and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one son: Darwin J. McVey and six siblings: Emmanuel, Orlando, Viola, Gladys, Herbert and Charles.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City with Pastor Lee Unger officiating.
