Elsie Mae Poulter, 89, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at The Kensington in Fort Madison. 
 
Elsie was born August 30, 1933 near Colusa, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred Kenton and Osa Mabel (Knisley) Lowman. On June 8, 1951 she married Richard “Dick” Poulter in Dallas City. He preceded her in death November 21, 2020.
 
Elsie attended school is Dallas City, Illinois. She enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling, playing cards and painting, especially ceramic painting. She was a member of the former King’s Daughters and the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Fort Madison. 
 
Survivors include two sons: Randy (Cindy) Poulter of Montrose, Iowa and Kendall (Ann) Poulter of Leesburg, Virginia; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law: Bonnie Kershner, Shirley Poulter and Ellen Poulter.
 
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. 
 
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City, with Pastor Leslie Dalstra officiating. For those interested, the family plans to gather at The Pink following the graveside.
