Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Peggy A. McGee, 68, Keokuk

Peggy Arlene McGee, 68 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, December 8, 2022 in Odessa, MO.

     She was born September 6, 1954 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Travis and Mary VanVelkinberg Brown.

     Peggy had been employed as a home health caregiver for many years.

     She loved all types of gemstones and was always on the lookout for new ones.  Peggy had a heart for caring for others and brightened many lives over the years. 

     She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lester (Pete) of West Burlington, IA and Mildred Burgess of Keokuk, one son, Travis McGee (Sarah) of Warsaw, IL, seven grandchildren, Chelsey Shedd, Cori Shedd, Dakota Shedd, Drake Shedd, Kevin Padgett, Trystan McGee and Weston McGee and two great-grandchildren, Dakota Dominguez and Elysia Gonzalez and one on the way.  She was also survived by one sister, Joy Brown of MS and three brothers, Robert Brown (Gale) of Independence, MO, Ralph Brown (Shelly) of Waynesboro, TN and Clyde Brown of Independence, MO. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Ann Margaret Shedd.

     A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m, Thursday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Larry Wallingford officiating.  Burial will at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.

    Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
