Mary Beth Hamilton died July 23, 2022, at her home in Webster City, Iowa from complications due to cancer.

     She was born on August 30, 1967, in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth L. and Mary Ellen (Kite) Merschbrock. 

     Mary graduated from Keokuk High School, Class of 1986. She was married to Gale Case from 1990 to 2014. She remarried in 2017 to John Hamilton, her high school sweetheart. They celebrated five years of marriage in April. John and Mary Beth met in 1982 at a Halloween party and feel in love at first sight. As many love stories go, they had bumps in the road and did not end up together again for several years.

     Mary Beth enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and looming. Her passion was making blankets, hats, gloves and scarves for family and friends. She was a loving wife and a great stepmom to Riley Hamilton.

     In addition to her husband, John W. Hamilton, she is also survived by  her stepson, Riley Hamilton; two brothers, Kenneth M. Merschbrock (Christi) and Raymond Merschbrock; her step-brother, Billy Newbery; step-sister, Laurie Kinzler; six nephews, David Merschbrock, Raymond Merschbrock, Ryan Merschbrock, Tristan Newberry, Chris McGuire and Ryan McGuire; and two nieces, Kelsey McGuire and Michaela Hyde.    

     She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her stepmom.

     A gathering of remembrance was held Saturday, August 20 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa with a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Mary’s life. Any cards can be sent to Mary’s home, 929 2nd Street Webster City, Iowa 50595.
