Jannusch gets 30 years for sex crimes

Must serve a minimum of 17.5 years before parole eligible

On October 4, 2024, a sentencing hearing for Daniel Jannusch, 39, of Donnellson, Iowa was held, following a finding of guilty by a jury in August. At sentencing the Court ordered Jannusch to serve a 25-year prison sentence for Count I, Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, involving a child, and a 5 year prison term for Count II, Incest, within the Iowa Department of Corrections. The sentences were ordered to be served consecutively, for a total of 30 years. Jannusch will not be eligible for parole until he has served 17½ years as a mandatory minimum under Count I. Jannusch was also ordered to a lifetime Sex Offender Registry requirement. Jannusch has remained in the custody of the Lee County Jail during the pendency of this case. He is to be immediately delivered to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentences.
On August 15, Jannusch was found guilty of the charge that stem from an investigation into the allegation that Jannusch committed sexual abuse upon a child whom he knew to be related to him on or about June 1, 2023 through and including August 28, 2023 in Donnellson.
The West Point Police Department was the responding agency and led the investigation on the case. This matter was prosecuted by the Lee County Attorney. Jannusch will remain in custody at the Lee County Jail pending sentencing.
