WEST BURLINGTON – Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center with campuses in West Burlington and Fort Madison, Iowa, received a 4-star Overall Hospital Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released in July.
The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating (Overall Star Rating) summarizes a variety of measures across five areas of quality into a single star rating for each hospital. The five measures used are mortality, readmissions, patient experience, safety, and timely & effective care. Hospitals report data through several quality programs. A summary score is then calculated from 1 star to 5 stars.
“We are proud of our employees for this achievement. We cannot say enough about the work our teams do to make our patients feel safe, and ensure they have a good experience.  These measures involve all aspects of patient care, and it takes everyone working together to take care of our patients,” expressed Christin Pritchard, Vice President of Quality for Great River Health.
