William “Bill” Quinton Mathis, 68, formerly of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Aspire of Donnellson.
Born on December 2, 1953, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Pauline (Puckett) Mathis Sr.
He is survived by three daughters: Trish Mathis, Jade Steiner, Trishawana Steiner; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers: John Mathis Sr., Stanley (Julie) Mathis, J.W. (Ginger) Mathis; two sisters: Jacquline Boos, RoseAnn (Al) Tulliani; one special sister in-law: Barb Mathis and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Betty JoAnn Mathis and two brothers: Jack and Ernest Mathis.
Bill retired from Oscar Mayer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeye games. He loved playing cards and chess with his nephews.
His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine, Iowa.
