Bonnie J. Diercks, 92, of Burlington, died Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born January 18, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ervin George and Goldie Marie Haifley Remaly. On March 27, 1948, she married Delbert Milton Diercks in Burlington. On October 8, 2014, he passed away.

Bonnie was a custodian for Surgeons Inc. and Physicians Inc.

She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ for sixty years, She enjoyed helping with the Community Lunchroom at Zion Church, was a  junior choir director, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Hand Bell Group "Golden Tones". She was an associated member of the Church of the Painted Hills, Tucson, Arizona and started a hand bell choir in Tucson. She currently was a member of First Christian Church Disciple of Christ. She was a past Matron E.C. Blackman Chapter 306 Order of the Eastern Star and was a 50 year member. She was also a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Gold Wing Road Riders and was an member of the American Motorcycle Association for twenty five years. She also enjoyed camping and traveling around the United States with her husband on their motorcycle. Bonnie was always there to give anyone a hug when they needed one.

Survivors include her son, Ronald (Donna) Diercks of Burlington; daughter, Becky Kemp of Fort Madison; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband of 65 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, Barbara Diercks, Jeri Moberg and Amy Jo Martin, three son-in-laws, J.K. Martin, Sterling Scott and Dean Morberg, grandson, Carl Mundt, and one sister, Helen Burrell.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM, with an Eastern Star Service following on February 3, 2023 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

The memorial service for Mrs. Diercks will be 3:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2023, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Reverend Brooke Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) following the burial.

A memorial has been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
