Dixie Lorene Brown Jingst was born June 20th, 1944, at home in Whiteside, Missouri.  Daughter of Alma Fay (Horton) Brown and William Joseph Brown.  Dixie was the youngest of eight children. Deceased siblings are Rita (Pete) Colbert, Jo Anne Simpson, Gene (Shirley – living) Brown, Tim (Dolores – living) Brown.  She is survived by a large loving family with numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

In 1964, Dixie first married Henri Hequembourg (deceased) and had two children, a son Aaron (Hope) Hequembourg who has four children Sinclair, Hart, Walter and Blaise and a daughter Amy (Hequembourg) Whitely who had three boys Brandon (Kammy) who are expecting a boy, Connor who has two boys Jonah and Declan, and Jadon.  In 1983, she married David Jingst, the love of her life. Her stepsons from David are Ron (Rachel) Jingst, Bob Jingst, and Tom (Dawn) JIngst with his son David and daughter Anna (Joey) and step children Logan, Grace and Lexy.

Dixie received her art degree and went on to work at the Daily Gate City Newspaper in advertising. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Centralia and as an associate member of Sutter Salem Bible Church in Sutter, Illinois. She enjoyed spending her free time spinning and sewing, dying wool and making shawls. She worked the entire process from “Sheep to Shawl”.

Dixie and Dave shared many adventures from raising the largest Angora goat herd in Illinois, building a house from the ground up in Wyoming, missionary work in Alaska and Wyoming, and becoming grandparents and great grandparents. Dixie had a life full of love and this is what she would want you to remember.  Her last 11 years spoiled by Dementia were hard years, they do not outweigh the significance of the life she lived.
