Norma J. Yaley, 93, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 4:10 AM at the West Point Care Center, IA.
She was born on December 4, 1930, in Edina, MO, to John A. and Bessie England Wenke, Sr. On May 24, 1952, she married Darrell Dee Yaley; he passed away on January 8, 2001. Norma worked at Sheaffer Pen Co. in her younger years, and at Dana Bushong Jewelers, and lastly, at Hesse Men’s Clothing Store. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Norma enjoyed riding her four-wheeler and her 100 cc motorcycle. She also loved cleaning, cooking, and going on walks, and had bowled on the City League. Most of all Norma loved to spend time with her family and especially loved hosting them for all the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. 
Survivors include three sons, Greg (Tammy) Yaley of Dallas City, IL, Bill (Chris) Yaley and Scott (Francis Hoenig) Yaley, both of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren, Carrie Pezley, Courtney Brown, Alex Yaley, Dillon Yaley and Ashley Cornick; and also Lane Hoenig and Danielle Hoenig; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, John Wenke of Topeka, KS, and Ronald Wenke of Cheyenne, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, and eight sisters. 
Friends may call after 2 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024, at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory, where the family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating.  Burial will be held in Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
