Mickelle D. “Micky” Harter, 72, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:01 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. She was born on June 22, 1950 in Fort Madison, IA to Darell & Valera Selby McPherson. She married Thomas H. Harter on November 5, 1966 in Drakesville, IA. She worked at Gleasons, Fruehauf, Albers Insurance in Fort Madison and was a homemaker. She enjoyed her plants and flowers and was a member of the Old Fort Yacht Club. She loved all things Mickey Mouse, but especially her family.
Micky is survived by: her husband: Tom Harter of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Lori (Randy) Privia of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Kevin (Heather) Harter of Fort Madison, IA; 2-grandchildren: Nathan Harter of Fort Madison and Ashley Privia of Fort Madison, IA; 1-great grandson: Ryder Metcalf of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sisters: Marsha (Duane) Russell of Fort Madison, IA & Penny Rudd of Fort Madison, IA; 2-brothers: Roger (Sandy) McPherson of Fort Madison, IA & Dan (Doris) McPherson of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2-sisters: Connie Kramer & Janet Campbell and 1-brother in Infancy: Jeffrey.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 with Pastor Jeff Metcalf officiating. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. A memorial has been established in her memory.
