Gary Paul Lake, 77, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 3:58 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. He was born on July 26, 1946 in Fort Madison, IA to Paul & Lela Bernhardt Lake. He married Rosemary A. Klesner on August 29, 1970 in Fort Madison, IA. He retired from the Sheaffer Pen Company and was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Pastime Club. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing & mushroom hunting. He enjoyed his daily drives to check on the farmers’ fields.
Gary is survived by: his wife: Rosemary Lake of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Paula (Chris) Azinger of West Point, IA; 1-son: Patrick (Karina) Lake of Omro, WI; 4-grandchildren: Brett, Kate & Leah Azinger & Rinn Lake; 2-brothers: John (Becky) Lake of Fort Madison, IA & Steve (Connie) Lake of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1-sister in infancy.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery.
