William E. Chaney, 70, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:33 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born on April 12, 1953 in Fort Madison, IA to William J. & Nancy A. Whitcomb Chaney. He worked at J.I. Case for 30+ years and enjoyed disc golf, hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms and going to the casino.
Bill is survived by: 3-sisters: Karen (Dick) Pieper of Fort Madison, IA, Kathy (Russ Wallace) Hood of Gulfport, MS & Doris (John Thomas) Chaney of Gulf Breeze, FL and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, parents and 1-brother, Steve Chaney.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Bill’s memory.
