Phyllis M. Emdia, 90, of Ft. Madison passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023.
She was born on July 23, 1933 in Ft. Madison to Earl and Louise Allen Hayes. On February 18, 1950 she married Donald “Corky” Emdia in Fairfield and he passed away on December 15, 2006. Phyllis was a member of Harmony Bible Church. She was a past member of the FMCH Auxiliary and Community Bible Study where she was a core leader for over twenty years. She enjoyed baking and reading. Most of all Phyllis loved her family and serving Jesus.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Gurney and Nancy (Dick) Klemensen; one son, Donald (Cyndi) Emdia; two grandchildren, Jessica (Chase) Greiner and Alex Emdia; two brothers, Steve Hayes and Gene Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Sherry Emdia and two brothers, Wig and Melvin Hayes.
A private family service will be held at King-Lynk Funeral Home followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery.
