Leafa Mae Budke, 99, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at The Kensington after a brief four month stay.  She was born on July 7, 1923 in Dallas City, IL to Clarence & Hazel Noland Logan.  She graduated from Dallas City High School in 1941.  She married Ralph B. Budke on February 22, 1946 in Fort Madison, IA.  He preceded her in death on June 20, 2011.  She worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company for 5+ years and after her marriage, she was a homemaker.    She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the United Veterans Railway Employees.  She and Ralph loved to travel in their motorhome and made many trips throughout the United States.  They also liked to take their grandsons with them.  She loved attending her grandson’s high school and college activities.  She and her family enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Leafa is survived by: 1-daughter: Jan (Dan) Stillwagon of Fort Madison, IA; 2-grandsons: Chad (Brandon) Stillwagon of Gig Harbor, WA & Todd (Staci) Stillwagon of Conway, SC; 3-great grandchildren: Brayden, Briley & Alba; 1-niece & 1-nephew.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband & 1-brother: Gail Logan.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jeff Metcalf officiating.  Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery.  A memorial has been established in her memory.  Online condolences to the Budke family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
