Jesse John Dorman, 89, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 12:32 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. He was born on May 19, 1934 in Winona, MN to Fred & Florence Schultz Dorman. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and the National Guard for 9 years. He married Dorothy V. Wolfe on December 31, 1956 in Wabasha, MN. He retired from First Miss and was a member of Holy Family Parish. He volunteered at Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus and the Tri-State Rodeo for many years. He loved playing golf.
Jesse is survived by: his wife: Dorothy Dorman of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Allen (Cindy) Dorman of Wever, IA; 1-daughter: Tracy (Matt) Aultman of Rogersville, MO; 5-grandchildren: Melissa Holterhaus, Lacey Dorman, Kayla (Justin) Hunter, Carlie Aultman & Jordan Aultman; 4-great grandchildren: Carson, Cayden & Conway Holterhaus and Lily Nitsche. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1-son: James, 3-brothers, & 2-sisters.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church. The funeral mass will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Felix Cemetery in Wabasha, MN. A memorial has been established for Holy Trinity Elementary School.
