Ethel C. Nolte, 84, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born on August 24, 1939 in Donnellson, IA to Denver & Murial Junkins Kincaid. She married LeRoy “Tad” Edward Nolte on January 16, 1960 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2011. She worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company in the data processing department for over 40 years. She enjoyed collecting all types of hand bells, going out to eat with her co-workers and classmates, watching game shows and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by: 1-son: Kevin (Paula) Nolte of Denmark, IA; 1-daughter: Lori Rung of Fort Madison, IA; 8-grandchildren:Bryan Hart, Kaitlin (Nick) Wilson, Emily (Zach) Wagoner, Nick (Dezeray) Nolte, Elyssa (Danny) Hall, Tyler (Katie) Rung, Allisyn Hart & Brody Rung; 6-great grandchildren: Paislee, River, Silas, Clay, Levi & Tatum; 2-brothers: Leroy (Rozella) Kincaid of Fort Madison, IA & Eddie (Clarann) Kincaid of California; 1-sister: Susie (AJ) West of California; several nieces & nephews and a special niece: Julia Saunders of Fort Madison, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-daughter: Carla, 1-grandson: Daniel, 1-brother & 4-sisters.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Metcalf officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
