Barbara E. Otte, 86, of Ft. Madison passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 6:06 PM at the West Point Care Center.
She was born on September 12, 1937 in Ft. Madison to Henry and Elsie Krumpleman Niggemeyer. On November 16, 1963 she married Fred Otte in Ft. Madison. Barb was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and the FMCH Auxiliary and she also loved going on walks. She worked as a secretary at the Iowa State Penitentiary and also Hy-Vee for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Otte of Ft. Madison and one son, Dean (Sonya) Otte of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, five brothers, two half brothers and a half sister.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
