Robert L. Rench, 93, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa.

Robert was born on August 21, 1929, in Fairmont City, Illinois, the son of John and Nellie (Burkholder) Rench. On April 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Monical, at the Second Presbyterian Church in Keokuk. She survives.

Robert was employed at Hubingers in Keokuk for 40 years and was active in the Keokuk community. He was a member of the V.F.W., the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Club and the Local #48 American Federation of Grain Millers. Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, earning the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and three Bronze Service Stars. He was honorably discharged.

Robert is survived by his wife Betty of Keokuk, his sister Bonnie, and several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #41 and the United States Army.
