Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Wilver, 42, of Keokuk, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his home in Keokuk.

Jeff was born on January 9, 1981, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of John Robert Wilver, Jr., and Miriam Evelyn (Jones) Wilver Burdette. He was employed by TLC and Walmart in Keokuk, and proudly served his country in the United States Army in Iraq. Jeff was active at Pilgrim’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church, and never missed his men’s group. Fishing, working on computers, playing Madden with his brother and going on car rides with his best friend Mike were just a few of his favorite hobbies. Jeff was enrolled at Southeastern Community College, studying psychology. He enjoyed anime and cheering for the Raiders football team. Jeff will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of arguing and orneriness, and most of all, his love for his family and children.

Jeff is survived by four children: Jeffrey Allen Wilver, Jr, Isaac James Wilver, Savannah Evelyn Lucille Wilver, and Gabriel Elis Asher Wilver; the children’s mother Hayley Renae Hendricks; seven siblings: John Wilver III of Keokuk, Tiffany Wilver, JD Wilver, and Crystal (Jon Lebo) Wilver, all of Pennsylvania; Karen Benedict of Keokuk, Fred Long of Fort Madison, and Cory (Nickie) Burdette of Des Moines; his fathers John R. (Kay) Wilver, Jr., of Pennsylvania and David Burdette of Keokuk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeff is preceded in death by his mother Miriam “Cookie” and his brother James Clemens.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (Noon) on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 am to 12 pm (Noon) directly before the service.
