Shane Mathew Carrell, 24 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died unexpectedly Friday August 19, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison. He was born April 6, 1998 at Iowa City, Iowa, a son of Edward Carrell and Mary Ann Hart.
Shane was self-employed working on auto repair, carnival work, and all sorts of handyman jobs. He was interested in Xbox computer games and most especially loved Tater-tot casserole and spending time with his family and friends. He attended Fort Madison High School and loved his dog Zena.
Shane’s favorite carnival rides were the Moby Dick and the Bumper Cars. He is survived by his father Edward (Nancy Corman); one brother Shawn (Misty) Carrell of Keokuk, Iowa; one sister Jamie Hart of Pensacola, Florida; three step-siblings: Robert Stephenson, Elizabeth (Steven) Colella, Christina Lear; aunts and uncles: Larry, Ed, Linda, Diane, Sandra, and John III; cousins, and close family friends: Marilyn, Rachel, Darcy, Dee, Ty, Chance, Cheyann and his carnival family. Shane was preceded in death by his mother, and one brother James.
Shane’s family will greet friends starting at 12:30 pm Tuesday, August 23. 2022 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A Funeral Service will follow and begin at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Barr Memorial Chapel. A memorial has been established for the family, contributions may be left at or mailed to Barr Memorial Chapel, 1919 Ave F, Fort Madison, Iowa 52627.
