Barr Memorial Chapel obituary – Ronald L. Beelman, 64, Fort Madison

Ronald L. Beelman, (affectionately called Ronnie Lynn "Firecracker" Beelman by his family) age 64, Fort Madison, Iowa passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 surrounded by his family at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa after a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 4, 1958, son of Carl B. and Lois M. (Wilson) Beelman.

Ron welcomed his first son, Brent, with partner Karla McCormick. He later married Suzette Ellis (now divorced) and shares a son, Joshua. He loved his sons dearly.

Ron was a member of the Fort Madison High School class of 1976 and also attended Lake Worth High School, Lake Worth, Florida. Ron was employed many years by Stanley Steemer and also performed professional moving and landscape maintenance. He took great pride in his work. Ron was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed watching baseball and football. To say he loved music is an understatement, as he was an avid concert goer in his youth and could be described as a music aficionado. He had a huge caring heart and was always willing to help others; even at the end, he continued to be considerate of those around him.

He is survived by his two sons, Brent Michael Lee McCormick of Kingdom City, Missouri and Joshua Paul Ellis-Beelman of Fort Madison; eight siblings: Bruce (Diane) Beelman of Bismarck, North Dakota; Dan Beelman of Brimfield, Illinois; Richard (Rose) Beelman, Bonnie (Tim) Williams, Connie

(Mike) Basham, Robin (Dave) Foehring, Michelle (Rick) Seager, all of Fort Madison; Sheri (John) Hawk, of West Point, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lois.

Family and friends are welcome to attend A Celebration of Life Service, 11:00 AM, at the fountain in Riverview Park, Fort Madison, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, with lunch and fellowship to follow at the Eagles Club in Fort Madison.
