Nancy Lou Butler, 77 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House. She was born November 2, 1946 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Francis Wayne “Pete” and Lenora (Silveries) Butler.
Nancy was a 1964 graduate of Fort Madison High School. She worked in the lab at DuPont for years before retiring in 2001. Later she worked as an aide for the Fort Madison School District. She loved yard sales, thrift stores, and shopping. She enjoyed doing embroidery and ceramics. She was a great aunt and loved to take care of her great nieces and nephews. She loved her dog, Emmy, and her cat, Lukus.
She is survived by her siblings: Jack (Margaret) Butler of Colorado, Jyll (Paul) Sly of Nauvoo, Illinois; and Susan “Susie” Butler of Fort Madison; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy’s family will greet friends and celebrate her life from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
