Barr Memorial Chapel obituary - Mary I. Barnett, 83, Fort Madison

Mary Irene Barnett, 83 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Tuesday February 27, 2024 surrounded by her family.  She was born May 3, 1940 at Unionville, Missouri, a daughter of Raymond and Mary Lavonne (Anders) Jones.  She retired from Burrows Packaging.  She made flower arrangements, always loved a bargain and enjoyed camping.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the First Baptist Church, Fort Madison.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Janssen of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother,  Raymond Junior (Shirley) Jones of Oakland, Tennessee; three sisters: Emeline (Paul) Allen of Kahoka, Missouri; Angeline Lindsey of Jacksonville, Illinois and Betty (Ken) McWhorter of Fort Madison; four grandchildren: Heather, Todd, Dustin, and Rose; nieces and nephews; and her adopted daughter, Tracy Krebill.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Jones; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Hop) Funk; and her special friend, Jim Brockman.
Visitation will be held 9:00 - 10:00 Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.  Her funeral service will follow and begin at 10:00 am Saturday at Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with Pastor Dean Graber and Pastor Steve Scott officiating.  Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the First Baptist Church, Youth Church Camp, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Barnett family, and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
